  • One year = 12 months. Late petitions allowed with justification (may be summarily denied). A petition for modification does NOT preserve appellate rights (16.4(a)). Computation: CPUC Rule 1.15 (20 CCR 1.15) excludes the first day, includes the last, extends a last day on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday or other day CPUC offices are closed to the next day, and treats an act after 5:00 p.m. as done the next day. No mail-service extension was found in the Rules reviewed (1.15, 11.1, 14.3, 16.1); none is applied.
  • If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
