1Court is a public directory of U.S. court information (clerk contacts, filing fees, e-filing, courthouses, jurisdiction thresholds and related facts) operated by 1Court Inc. This policy explains what we collect through the 1Court website (state.1court.ai) and the 1Court API and MCP server, how we use it, and your choices. It is written to be accurate to what the service actually does rather than to be exhaustive boilerplate.
Information we collect
No account is required to browse the directory or to query the API/MCP server, and we do not require you to provide personal information to do so. We collect:
Standard server logs. Like most websites and APIs, our servers record request metadata such as IP address, user-agent, referrer, timestamp and the path requested.
Usage events. We log which API/MCP tool was called and the non-personal query parameters (for example the state and county requested), and which on-site call-to-action was clicked. These are used for analytics, reliability and abuse prevention (including rate limiting).
Information you voluntarily provide. If you email us or request filing/serving assistance, we receive the contact details and case information you choose to send.
How we use information
To operate and improve the directory, to monitor performance and reliability, to detect and prevent abuse and scraping, and to respond to messages and requests you send us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
The API and MCP server
The 1Court API and MCP server are read-only and return publicly available court information. They require no authentication and no personal data to use. Requests are logged as described above so we can measure demand, keep the service reliable and prevent abuse. The MCP tools do not write to, or take actions in, any external system.
How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run the service (for example our hosting and data-source infrastructure), and where required to comply with law or to protect the security and integrity of the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Logs and usage events are retained for a limited period for security and analytics and then discarded or aggregated. Information you send us (such as a support or filing request) is kept as long as needed to respond and to maintain reasonable business records.
Children
1Court is intended for a general and professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a security issue, please contact us at support@1court.ai and we will address confirmed vulnerabilities promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
