- Some practitioners count the certification day as day 1; that reading gives a date one day earlier. Automatic expiration; roll 'none'. If the proposed conservatee demands a court or jury trial, the court may extend the temporary conservatorship until disposition, not to exceed 180 days (5352.1(d)); that extension is not modeled because its start point is not stated. Amended Stats. 2024, ch. 640 (SB 42), eff. Sept. 27, 2024. A temporary conservatorship following a 30-day certification runs concurrently with it (5270.55(c)).
- If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
