  • Jurisdictional. No court may extend (8.104(b)); CCP 1013(a), 1013(c), 1013(e) and 1010.6(a)(3)(B)(iii) expressly exclude notice of appeal from service extensions. Weekend/holiday last day rolls forward (CCP 12a; CRC 1.10(b)). Applies when no qualifying notice of entry/file-endorsed copy was served, and always operates as the outer limit. 8.104(a)(3): if parties stipulated under CCP 1019.5 to waive notice, (1)(C) applies unless notice of entry or filed-endorsed copy is served.
  • If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
