CRC 1.10(b): "Unless otherwise provided by law, if the last day for the performance of any act that is required by these rules to be performed within a specific period of time falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or other legal holiday, the period is extended to and includes the next day that is not a holiday." - Jurisdictional. No court may extend (8.104(b)); CCP 1013(a), 1013(c), 1013(e) and 1010.6(a)(3)(B)(iii) expressly exclude notice of appeal from service extensions. Weekend/holiday last day rolls forward (CCP 12a; CRC 1.10(b)). Service may be by any CCP method including e-service (8.104(a)(2)); the proof of service date starts the period and NO mail/e-service days are added. - If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
