  • Registrant must also register at the new address within five working days (290(b)). 'Working days' is not defined in the Act; counted here as court days (Saturdays, Sundays and judicial holidays excluded). A registering agency's own closures may differ; advise registering well before the last day, since failure to register is a crime. SAFE DATE: 5 calendar days. 'Working days' is undefined; court days skip judicial holidays on which the registering agency may be open, so the court-day date can be later than the agency's count. [Validation 2026-11, Q0452. • If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
