Pre-suit administrative deadline; the request is filed with the public entity, not the court. The period runs from mailing, so no CCP 1013 mail extension is added (extensions 'none'). Roll under CCP 12a is applied by default, but the entity's office closures (CCP 12b) govern and may differ from court holidays; file by the unrolled day if possible. Under 1245.235(d) the entity may use another procedure giving 'reasonable written personal notice'; the notice actually sent controls. Section last amended Stats. 1986, ch. 358.
If the clerk's office is closed or inaccessible on the last day (weather, emergency or local closure orders), the deadline may be extended. Check local orders.
This calculator applies the cited rules to the dates you enter. It is not legal advice. Court orders, local rules, and case-specific facts can change a deadline; verify before relying on it. Rule set pending attorney review.
